We are pleased to offer the services of these doctors. In addition to practicing general medicine and surgery, our doctors pursue specific interests in various other aspects of veterinary medicine such as avian grooming and treatment in exotic animals.

Catherine Gately-Dean, DVM is a 1991 graduate of Virginia-Maryland School of Veterinary Medicine. She joined the practice in 1997 and enjoys working with ferrets, rabbits and other small animals. Her spare time is spent with her husband and their three children, actively participating in school events and their sports programs. Their family includes their Labradoodle, “Kanga” and cat “Popper”. Dr. Cate and her husband live in Mayo, Maryland and enjoy supporting their local community. |

Karl R. Reichardt, DVM is a 1972 graduate of Michigan State University School of Veterinary Medicine. He has an interest in preventive medicine and geriatrics. Dr. Reichardt is also a licensed hot air balloon pilot; it is from his interest in the sport that we acquired our logo. He is an avid outdoorsman with a great appreciation of nature and he enjoys travel, hiking and fly-fishing. He shares most of this time with his wife Carol, and his best friend, “Sage”, his yellow Labrador retriever. |

Dan Doherty, DVM is a 1988 graduate of the University Of Georgia College Of Veterinary Medicine. He resides in the Annapolis area where he graduated from Annapolis High School in 1968. In addition to his veterinary career, he is an attorney and has served as an Assistant States Attorney for Anne Arundel County and in private law practice. He has been married to his wife Kris for 33 years and they have two children. Dr. Doherty has been active as a lacrosse player, coach and referee. He enjoys gardening and spending time with his Labradoodle, “Bailey”. |

Vera Calpeno, DVM is a 2009 graduate of the University of Georgia College Of Veterinary Medicine. She originally moved to Maryland when she was stationed here in her time with the United States Navy. She missed it so much she decided to return. She enjoys volunteering and fundraising within her community. She will soon be volunteering her services to the Annapolis SPCA for their Feline Neuter-a-thon. She teaches performance dance in her spare time as well as loving the outdoors and traveling. Dr. Calpeno has 3 cats named Macon, Miso, and Milo. She is extremely honored to join our practice and feels privileged to work with such a fantastic team and such wonderful clients. |

Michelle Mueller has worked with our practice since 2001 as a Veterinary Technician. Michelle is currently enrolled at Cedar Valley College and is working towards obtaining her Veterinary Technician certification. Michelle currently resides with her husband and two cats, “Gus” and “Tuna”. In her spare time she enjoys reading a good book or being outdoors. |

Tina Brandt is one of our newest members of the practice, but is far from new from the veterinary field. She has been a Veterinary Technician for 16 years and enjoys every minute of it. She is a breath of fresh air and very welcoming to all of our clients. In her spare time she likes to spend time with her family which includes her parents, nephews, sister and her 2 yorkies and 1 silky terrier. She’s also extremely close to her sister’s 2 pugs. Sport fishing is big amongst her family. She looks forward to building close relationship with our clients and providing the absolute best veterinary care and customer service. |

Larissa Winingar, a part time Client Relations Specialist and a Veterinary Technician Assistant joined our practice in February 2008. Larissa was born and raised in Brazil, now she resides with her husband, pit bull named “Vida” and her cat named “George”. She has been around animals her whole life and loves being a part of a team whose common goal is health and well being of animals. She enjoys dancing and going outdoors. She currently attends college and plans to get a degree in health care. She absolutely loves the animals we care for. |

Tarryn MacDonald joined our practice in the spring of 2009 as a full time Veterinary Technician Assistant. She graduated from the Vet Tech Institute of Pittsburg where she focused on exotic and avian science. She loves to draw, outdoor activities and swimming. Tarryn has 3 turtles and 2 birds. She appreciates the opportunity to care for your animals and strives to provide excellent service with all of our patients. |

Amber Cox has been a fantastic addition to the team and is a cross trained client relations and veterinary technician assistant. She loves to draw, scrap booking, and spend time with her friends and her pets. She has been in the Veterinary Medicine field for 5 years now and loves every minute of it. She enjoys every second spent with your pets and aims to give them the love and attention they would receive at home when they are here with us. |

Francesca Santini started as an intern at our hospital interested in becoming a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine after years of schooling. She did such a fantastic job we made her a part of the team and she is now a cross trained veterinary technician assistant and client relations specialist. “Checa”, as we like to call her, spends her days off studying hard for her college exams and working hard towards her dream of working as a Veterinary Doctor at the San Diego Zoo in California. She gives each and every client the warmest smile and hopes to make all your experiences with us an extraordinary one. |

Marie Valentonis is our most recent addition to the team and we are very happy to have her here. She has experience as a veterinary technician and has always had a passion for working with animals. She has 2 domestic short hair cats named Cashew and Tamale, as well as 1 snake named Isabella. Her hometown is Severna Park, MD where she spends her time happily married to her husband from Canada. She is very excited and ready to meet our clients and develop a wonderful professional relationship with them. |

Linda Hammond, a senior Client Relations Specialist, has been with our practice since 1990. She was born and raised in Grand Island, New York and has been a resident of Maryland for 23 years. She joined Reichardt Animal Hospital 18 years ago. She is full of light and happiness and makes all our clients feel as though they are a part of our family. Linda feels that it is not only an honor, but a privilege to care for your patients and companions.
Denise Sullivan, a part time cross trained Client Relations Specialist has worked with our practice since 2000. Denise is a former native of Centreville, Virginia, where she spent her youth on the farm training, competing and showing horses. During her time off she enjoys time with her family and friends, and shopping. Denise enjoys her career and has been known to go way beyond normal customer service to provide the best atmosphere for our clients. |

Dorothy (Dot) Campbell, a former Client Relations Specialist and now part time Client Relations Clerk, and has worked with our practice since 2000. She was born in California, raised in Washington DC and has been a resident of Maryland since 1987. Dorothy has retired twice and enjoys gardening and remodeling her home. Her careers have entailed claims processing with the Carpenters Union and computer operations with the Board of Education. Bored with retirement, she now enjoys her third career working at Reichardt Animal Hospital. |

Sadie Christenson joined our practice in February 2008 as a full time Client Relations Specialist. She was raised in Edgewater, MD with her 2 sisters. She enjoys working with animals and takes pride in her work. Outside of work Sadie enjoys drawing, scrapbooking, spending time with her son, Miles, and her yellow lab, “Shamus”. She enjoys boating and fishing with her father. She someday hopes to get into a career counseling young children. |

Vanessa Palau joined our practice in the summer of 2008 as a part time Bather and Client Relations Specialist. She has a passion for swimming and loves to read. She fully enjoys walking her dog,“ Brady”. She is a senior in high school and is interested in pursuing a career in forensic science. Vanessa loves animals of all kinds and takes the time to spend special attention and care to all of our patients. |

Stephanie Garcia, a full time Client Relations Specialist has been a member of our practice since September 2008. Before joining our staff she was a fire breather, stilt-walker, and face painter for an Orlando, FL based circus. She currently lives in downtown Annapolis where painting, sculpting and reading are among her favorite activities. She is in the process of getting her Masters in Art Education. Stephanie fully understands how important quality veterinary care is and hopes to make all of your visits with us exciting and fun. |

Debbie Butzke, a part time Client Relations Specialist has been with Reichardt Animal Hospital since July of 2007. In her spare time Debbie enjoys spending time with her husband and two children. Her family has rescued two Great Pyrenees, “Bear” and “Sierra” who have adjusted well to their new surroundings and their two new best feline friends “Cosmo” and “Nola”. As if that wasn’t enough she recently saved a stray domestic short hair, she named “Bella”. Debbie is a great pleasure to have on our staff with her sweet disposition and happy attitude with all of our clients. |
